Agra

Flew to Delhi for the weekend so that I could see the Taj Mahal (bucket list).  I stayed at the Wyndham Grand in Agra.  As I walked into the hotel, I was welcomed by 20 staff in a semi-circle.  A fresh marigold flower wreath was placed over my head and I was given a bindi to represent beauty, honour, love and prosperity.



I check into the room.  Well appointed room with lots of bottled water - yeah! I then went out to explore the hotel and the 18-acre grounds.

 

The hotel had beautiful details giving it a royal ambiance. For example, marble stairs with intricate carved marble handrails. 

 

A visual delight as it revives the grandeur of the Mughal Emperors.  In the lobby more marble and gilded furniture. The ceiling was also elaborate.

 

 

The outside grounds were just as impressive with the terraced gardens and a very large pool with swim up bar.
